A plain-English guide to the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters.
PURSUE stands for the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters. It's the interagency program that identifies, declassifies and publishes government records on unidentified anomalous phenomena.
How it began
On February 19, 2026, the President directed the Department of War to release government files related to UAP and UFOs. The Department launched WAR.GOV/UFO on May 8, working with the White House, FBI, Department of Energy, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, NASA and other agencies.
How it works
Every file is reviewed for security before release, then posted for anyone to read. Releases arrive on a rolling basis, seven so far between May and October 2026.
What "unresolved" means
The site describes its materials as unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination on what was observed. The public is invited to study the evidence directly.
